Thanksgiving is that appointed time when we pause with intention—turning our hearts toward the good in our lives. Each day brings small blessings, glimpses of grace, and quiet reminders of God’s faithfulness. Yet too often we overlook them, giving more of our attention to problems than to praise, more of our energy to the things that trouble us than to the people and moments that bring us peace.

As we enter this season, let us be on the lookout for the bits of joy tucked into each hour. Let us appreciate the people who bring love and light to our journey—those whose presence strengthens us and whose faith inspires us. You are one of those people. On this Thanksgiving, I am truly thankful for you.

As the day approaches and we recall our many blessings, we remember with gratitude the kindness, dedication, and steadfast spirit you continue to offer in service to God and the Church. You are special in all you say and do, and your faithfulness has made a difference in the lives of many.

And for those of us who will face an empty chair at the table this year, know that you are held in love. Amid the feasting, the fellowship, and even the tears, may this be a sacred time to remember, to cherish, and to honor the legacy of our loved one. May God’s peace surround you, and may comfort rise gently in your heart.
